Personally supervised the
installation of over 4 million
tons of asphalt concrete and
hundreds of lane miles of chip
seals on various projects
throughout northern California
and western Nevada. Developed a
process for applying chip seals
over paving fabric in 1983 and
has placed this on private and
public roads from Clear Lake to
South Lake Tahoe, California
along with Douglas County,
Nevada (provided consulting
services for this process in
Baghdad, Arizona). Has extensive
knowledge in all asphalt cement
products used in the road
construction industry in the
Western United States including
chip seals, slurry seals,
asphalt rejuvenators, cutbacks,
emulsions and hot oils. Also has
experience with new additions of
polymers and rubber in asphalt
cements and emulsions that has
benefited users with longer life
pavements.

Technical advisor assisting public and private agencies with the development of
new specifications for asphalt concrete in designing improved dense, open graded
and high stability mixes to be applied statewide along with other pavement
preservation strategies. Industry Co-Chair on the Hot Mix Asphalt (HMA) Task
Group for the first major rewrite of Section 39 (HMA) of the State
Specifications since 1976. This effort resulted in the new 2010 Section 39 HMA
Standard Specifications.

Specifically Innovation, Interlayer, and Thin Lift Asphalt Concrete Sub-Groups
(Industry Chair for Asphalt Concrete Sub-Group). This is a joint venture with
